Fish come in many shapes and sizes. They are exploited by fishkeepers, and are exhibited in public aquaria. Fish have had a role in many cultures through the ages, ranging from deities and religious symbols to the subjects of books and popular movies. Food prepared from fish is also called fish, and it is an important food source for humans. Over 97% of all known fishes are oviparous, that is, the eggs develop outside the mother's body. Examples of oviparous fishes include salmon, tuna, goldfish and eels.
